What is Renewable Energy?

Renewable energy is energy that comes from natural resources that are replenished over time and can be used indefinitely without running out. These natural resources include sunlight, wind, water, geothermal heat, and biomass.

Renewable energy sources are in contrast to non-renewable energy sources, such as coal, oil, and natural gas, which are finite resources and will eventually run out.

Renewable energy is considered a cleaner and more sustainable source of energy because it produces less pollution and has lower greenhouse gas emissions than non-renewable sources. Renewable energy also has the potential to provide energy security and create jobs in the growing renewable energy industry.

Examples of renewable energy technologies include solar photovoltaic systems, wind turbines, hydroelectric power, geothermal power plants, and biomass energy systems.
